Known for its unwavering mission to create a more equitable society by closing the opportunity gap for young people from underserved communities, SEO brought together scholars, alumni, mentors, and corporate partners for a day of celebration, connection, and empowerment. Held in The Stage , our 378-seat auditorium, the event spotlighted the impact of SEO’s transformative programs—from Career to Scholars to Tech and Alternative Investments. Attendees heard firsthand from SEO alumni whose journeys exemplify the organization's mission in action. This bold vision includes sweeping upgrades to Arthur Ashe Stadium—with expanded courtside seating, new luxury suites, and a dramatic new entrance by architect Daniel Libeskind—alongside the creation of a $250 million Player Performance Center designed to meet the needs of modern athletes. The announcement underscores the US Open’s growing economic and cultural impact, with the tournament contributing over $1.2 billion annually to New York City.  On a vibrant spring evening in Manhattan, The Times Center buzzed with energy, conversation, and cultural pride as The New York Times hosted a special event spotlighting Asian American culture and its growing impact across arts, media, and public life. The event brought together a dynamic group of artists, journalists, community leaders, and changemakers for a night of storytelling, dialogue, and performance. From heartfelt panel discussions to live music from Laufey and spoken word, every moment served as a testament to the richness and diversity of the Asian American experience. Highlights of the evening included a panel moderated by a Times journalist that explored how Asian American identities are portrayed in the media, as well as the role of journalism in combating stereotypes and elevating authentic narratives.
